Benzodiazepines contain a class of drugs frequently prescribed for the treatment of stress. Common benzodiazepines comprise Tavor, Valium, Rivotril, and Ativan. Each of these drugs acts on the central nervous system to promote the effects of a neurotransmitter identified as GABA. This produces in a calming effect, reducing feelings of apprehension.
